Nestled in the central part of Zambia’s North-Western Province, Mufumbwe stands out as one of the region’s fastest-growing and most dynamic districts. Located approximately 800 kilometres northwest of Lusaka, the district spans a vast 20,756 km² and sits at an altitude of 1,069 metres (3,510 feet). Its geographical coordinates—13°41’ S, 24°48’ E—place it at a natural crossroads that connects several key districts.
Mufumbwe shares its boundaries with Manyinga to the west; Mwinilunga, Kasempa, and Kalumbila to the east; and Kasempa, Kaoma, Lukulu, and Mumbwa to the south. This central positioning has transformed Mufumbwe into a vital economic and commercial hub within the province.
