Mufumbwe, Zambia – The people of Miluji Ward are celebrating a major⁵ milestone with the commissioning of two new water points, courtesy of the Constituency Development Fund (CDF). The facilities will provide clean, safe drinking water to numerous households, reducing the long distances residents previously walked to fetch water.
Mufumbwe Member of Parliament, Eliot Kamondo, handed over the water points, emphasizing President Hakainde Hichilema’s commitment to ensuring access to clean water for all. “This is a significant milestone for Miluji, and we’re proud to be part of it,” he said.
The community is optimistic about the impact, with benefits including reduced travel time, health security, and economic stability. Over 60,000 residents in Kamipingo area have benefited from CDF projects, and the community is looking forward to more developments.
Ward Development Committee Chairperson, Philip Mununga, praised the President’s leadership, saying, “He promised us schools, hospitals, and water, and he’s delivering.”
The Member of Parliament, Eliot Kamondo, also highlighted the upcoming Bill 7, which will increase constituencies and allocate more funds for development, saying the President is committed to bringing more development to the area.
The ceremony was attended by Council Secretary, Mr. Robbie Chitambo, and heads of departments, who witnessed the handover.
